Southern African Beach Escapes
Maybe you’d like to add few beach days to your safari adventure. It’s not that easy to find on Africa’s mainland, but you can visit breathtaking islands like Zanzibar (unfortunately already spoiled by mass tourism), Pemba (still very remote!), Lamu (one calls it the Cote Azure of Africa) and Madagascar (for the one who loves exploring). Mozambique has a new project in the works which sounds promising. Be aware that Africa’s East Coast has quite strong tides which make the beaches dirty, and it may be that you’ll only be able to enjoy the beach’s beauty at night. But if you don’t mind travelling by boat to discover tiny islands in the vicinity, you just might find your own little paradise.
